Support an Individual and His Beloved Dog
Strive Living Society is seeking a Home Share Provider in Chilliwack, BC, who can offer a welcoming, pet-friendly home to an individual with a developmental disability and his dog.
The individual is quite independent and is looking for a supportive living environment where he can maintain his routines, build life skills, and enjoy a good quality of life alongside his dog.
About the Home Share Arrangement
Home Sharing involves providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive home environment while encouraging independence and personal growth.
Support may include but is not limited to:
- Assistance with meal planning and grocery shopping.
- Support with daily living activities and developing new life skills.
- Encouragement to maintain independence and participate in everyday activities.
- Providing a welcoming environment for the individual and his dog.
Home Requirements
The Home Share Provider must have a private bedroom or separate suite available in their own home.
The home must be pet-friendly and welcoming to the individual's dog.
Applicants may own, lease, or rent their home and must live in Chilliwack, BC.
Additional qualifications required or to be obtained:
- Emergency First Aid certification.
- CPR Level A certification.
- A transparent criminal record check.
- A valid BC driver's license and an ICBC driver's abstract.
Compensation
The Home Share contract ranges from $2,000 to $2,500 per month.
