Lead occupational health and safety at Greater Victoria Public Library in Victoria, BC, supporting compliance, prevention, and psychologically healthy workplaces.

Reporting to the Director, Facilities, Safety, Security and Risk Management, the Coordinator leads GVPL’s OHS program. The position works with People and Culture, leaders, employees, committees, and external agencies. It supports protected, inclusive environments across all GVPL locations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Greater Victoria Public Library’s Occupational Health and Safety program
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable legislation
- Identify risks and implement prevention strategies across GVPL locations
- Support health and safety investigations with relevant stakeholders




- Foster physical and psychological workplace safety culture

Requirements:

- Occupational health and safety professional experience
- Ability to collaborate with diverse staff, leaders, and committees
- Ability to foster innovation and effective team relationships
- Respectful, compassionate, empathetic, and integrity-driven approach
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector police information or background check
