Lead person-centered recreation programs at Extendicare, using program planning and leadership skills to enrich seniors’ daily experiences. This is a full time opportunity.
The Recreation Manager leads staff and volunteers while developing meaningful activities for residents in a senior’s care setting. The position focuses on resident and family satisfaction, participation, community engagement, and quality of life. You will manage programs, documentation, evaluation, and departmental spending.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and motivate recreation staff and volunteers
- Develop and implement resident programs and activities
- Achieve resident and family satisfaction targets
- Monitor recreation budgets and departmental expenditures
- Promote community engagement through volunteers and partners
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation
- Minimum one year of experience in a health care setting
- Minimum two years planning senior care programs
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Search completed within six months
