Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., seeks a technician for full time, year-round employment. The work includes hatchery routines, brood stock handling, spawning, egg and fry production, and aquaculture stock care. You will collect data, maintain records, and operate equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor feed and oxygen throughout daily farm routines
- Complete water quality tests and record chemistry results
- Assist technicians operating fish hatcheries and handling brood stock
- Feed, vaccinate, grade, weigh, and cull aquaculture stocks
- Operate, clean, and maintain pumps,
filters, tanks, and equipment
Requirements:
- Completed recognized aquaculture training or sufficient hands-on salmon fry experience
- Attention to detail and computer literacy
- Ability to lift and carry brood fish
- Ability to answer alarms and work irregular shifts
- Willingness to work weekends and complete mandatory respirator FIT testing
