Support Manitoba highways as a Highway Engineering Assistant using roadway construction knowledge and accurate field calculations. This regular, full time role serves western Manitoba locations.

Reporting to Highway Project Technologists, you will perform elementary technical work under Highway Construction Technician direction. Assignments may include surveying, checking, scaling, or flagging while following departmental standards, specifications, policies, and procedures. Strong communication and recordkeeping support work with contractors, stakeholders, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform elementary technical work for highway operations
- Assist with surveying, checking, scaling, or flagging
- Follow departmental construction standards and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation




- Communicate courteously with contractors and the public

Requirements:

- Experience in roadway construction, checking, scaling, surveying, or inspection
- Knowledge of occupational safety, health, and risk management procedures
- Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Valid unrestricted Manitoba Class 5 driver's licence
