Support shelter and detox clients overnight in Calgary through crisis management, compassionate care, and safety monitoring. Weekend availability is required.

As a Relief Worker at Alpha House, you will help maintain a protected, caring environment for vulnerable individuals. You will complete admissions, monitor withdrawal symptoms, respond to overdoses and conflicts, and connect clients with resources. The work supports shelter and detox services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Complete admissions and discharges for clients under influence
- Monitor client safety, wellbeing, withdrawal symptoms, and condition
- Respond to overdoses, seizures, and conflicts through de escalation
- Interact respectfully, compassionately, and without judgment




- Provide treatment information and connect clients with resources

Requirements:

- Availability for overnights and weekends
- Commitment to at least three shifts per schedule period
- Two year social sciences degree or diploma, completed or in progress
- Ability to lift items up to 35 pounds
- Ability to obtain required screening and certifications
