Okanagan Montessori is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Out of School Care Educator to join our team!

Established in 1992, Okanagan Montessori is a non-profit society governed by a board, dedicated to providing quality education and care for children from infancy through elementary school. We value a welcoming, respectful environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Our Out of School Care program provides children with a positive space to unwind after their school day, build friendships, explore their interests, and enjoy meaningful activities in a supportive environment.

About the Position

- Hours: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Location: East Kelowna, BC
- Position: Part-time
- Wage: Based on qualifications and experience

Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-aged children.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and outdoor play.
- Support children's social-emotional development, independence, and positive peer relationships.
- Encourage respectful behaviour, cooperation,



and conflict resolution.
- Maintain active supervision and ensure children's safety at all times.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and maintaining an organized environment.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with the school team to create a positive after-school experience.

Qualifications
- Experience working with school-aged children is an asset.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE), Responsible Adult, or other relevant childcare qualifications are an asset, depending on licensing requirements.
- Robust communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- A positive, patient, and energetic approach to working with children.
- Ability to take initiative, plan engaging activities, and manage a group of children.
- Current First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it, as required.
- Ability to meet applicable childcare licensing and criminal record check requirements.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
