Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate AMI or MACTE Montessori Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. This role involves implementing Montessori principles to support early childhood development and ensuring each child's individual needs are met.

The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with families, and uphold the standards of Montessori education. A strong background in early childhood education, childcare, and experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred. Bilingual skills in English and French are a plus, as well as proficiency in classroom management, organization, and computer operation.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver Montessori-based lessons that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment aligned with Montessori philosophy.
- Observe and assess each child's progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet their individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student development and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding progress and concerns.
- Foster independence, respect, and curiosity among students through age-appropriate activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and participate in team meetings.




- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements related to childcare and early childhood education.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently through excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding students effectively while encouraging self-directed learning.

Qualifications

- Certification from an accredited AMI or MACTE Montessori training program.
- Experience working with children in early childhood settings; experience with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Robust communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in French is desirable.
- Knowledge of child development principles and special education strategies.
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective teaching methods within a Montessori environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities along with strong writing skills for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism and patience.
