The Ammonia

Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial refrigeration, with a primary focus on ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems. This role requires a certified professional with strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to deliver high‑quality service while maintaining excellent customer relationships. Ammonia / Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic 40 hours per week, Full time & Permanent Install, commission, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration and ammonia refrigeration systems.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in refrigeration and Ammonia equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and system performance checks to ensure reliable and effective operation. Accurately complete service reports, maintenance logs,



inspection records, and documentation of materials and parts used.

Work independently in the field and collaborate effectively with other technicians, supervisors, and support staff. 3-5+ years of experience in Industrial refrigeration or Ammonia systems, preferably in industrial or commercial environments. ~ Demonstrated experience working on ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems . Industries of cold storage, processing cooling, ice rinks, production cooling, etc. ~ Qualification and experience with gas, oil, and burner systems is an asset but not mandatory . ~ High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. ~ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. ~ Health and Safety is a core paramount value of Carmichael Engineering.
