About Quoin Construction

Founded in 2006, Quoin Construction Limited is a construction management and general contracting firm specializing in corporate office construction, commercial renovations, and complex interior projects. Operating throughout the Greater Toronto Area and across Ontario, we work with corporate clients, landlords, property managers, architects, and interior designers to deliver projects that balance quality, functionality, and long-term value.

At Quoin, we believe successful construction begins long before work starts on site. Our approach is built on strategic thinking, proactive risk management, transparency, and strong relationships. We take pride in being accessible, approachable, and committed to understanding our clients' business objectives.

Our philosophy is simple: quality over volume, relationships over transactions, and thoughtful planning over reactive problem-solving.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional who shares this philosophy and can help us build meaningful relationships, identify new opportunities, and support Quoin's continued growth.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity for a highly outgoing, articulate, and relationship-oriented professional to play a key role in the continued growth of Quoin Construction. We are seeking someone with at least 10 years of business development experience and a strong understanding of the construction industry. The successful candidate will be a natural networker who genuinely enjoys meeting people, building connections, and developing long-term professional relationships.

You are confident in a room full of decision-makers, comfortable initiating conversations with people you have never met, and capable of representing a company with professionalism, credibility, and enthusiasm. You understand that successful business development is not simply about responding to tenders or pursuing immediate projects. It is about establishing trust, understanding client needs, and positioning Quoin as a valued construction partner before opportunities formally arise.

This individual will take an active role in expanding Quoin's network, strengthening existing relationships, and identifying opportunities where our construction expertise can provide meaningful value.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Development and Networking

- Proactively establish and develop relationships with corporate real estate teams, landlords, property managers, project managers, architects, interior designers, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Actively participate in industry events, networking functions, association meetings, and professional gatherings to expand Quoin's presence and connections.
- Arrange and attend introductory meetings, client lunches, office visits, and relationship-building activities.
- Build relationships with decision-makers and influencers who can introduce Quoin to upcoming projects and new business opportunities.
- Maintain regular, meaningful contact with existing clients and industry partners to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.

Business Development and Opportunity Generation:

- Identify and pursue recent business opportunities across commercial interiors, corporate office renovations, landlord projects, institutional facilities, and other relevant construction markets.
- Develop a strong understanding of prospective clients' businesses, capital plans, real estate strategies, and upcoming construction requirements.
- Identify opportunities before they reach the formal tender stage,

positioning Quoin to participate in early planning, budgeting, preconstruction, and construction management discussions.
- Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of prospects, relationships, pursuits, and potential projects.
- Work closely with Quoin's estimating, project management, and senior leadership teams to assess opportunities and develop appropriate pursuit strategies.
- Help increase repeat and negotiated work by demonstrating Quoin's value beyond price alone.

Market Presence and Company Representation:

- Clearly and confidently communicate Quoin's capabilities, experience, values, and competitive advantages.
- Represent Quoin professionally in meetings, presentations, networking events, and client discussions.
- Identify opportunities to introduce Quoin's expertise in budgeting, constructability, value engineering, phasing, occupied renovations, risk mitigation, and project delivery.
- Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and identify ways to differentiate Quoin in the marketplace.
- Work with the team to develop client presentations, project case studies, marketing initiatives, and targeted business development campaigns.

Strategic Growth

- Help develop and execute a focused business development strategy aligned with Quoin's growth objectives.
- Strengthen relationships with key target accounts and develop opportunities for long-term, recurring work.
- Identify ways to engage clients earlier in the construction process, helping them make informed decisions about cost, schedule, risk, and project execution.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on market activity, relationship development, emerging opportunities, and pursuit priorities.
- Focus on quality opportunities and strong client alignment rather than simply increasing the volume of tenders pursued.

The Person We Are Looking For: The successful candidate will bring a combination of construction knowledge, professional presence, social confidence, and commercial judgment.

· You are naturally outgoing. You enjoy meeting people, introducing yourself, starting conversations, and developing relationships. Networking is something you genuinely enjoy, not simply an activity you undertake because it is part of your job.

· You are exceptionally articulate. You communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally. You can engage in meaningful conversations with senior executives, property owners, consultants, and design professionals, adapting your approach to the audience and situation.

· You are confident and personable. You are comfortable representing Quoin independently, arranging meetings with new contacts, presenting the company's capabilities, and building rapport with people from different backgrounds and professional disciplines.

· You understand construction. You have sufficient industry knowledge to discuss construction costs, schedules, procurement, design coordination, constructability, project risks, and the realities of delivering commercial projects. You understand how clients evaluate contractors and what matters to them beyond the lowest price.

· You are proactive and persistent. You do not wait for opportunities to arrive in your inbox. You actively seek introductions,

arrange meetings, follow up consistently, and develop relationships over time.

· You are commercially minded. You can recognize a promising opportunity, understand the client's objectives, and determine how Quoin's capabilities can create value. You know when to pursue an chance and when to focus your efforts elsewhere.

· You are relationship-focused. You value credibility, trust, and long-term partnerships. You understand that business development is about earning the opportunity to work with a client, not simply selling a service.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 10 years of business development, client relationship management, or sales experience, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial construction, construction management, general contracting, and commercial interior renovations.
- Established professional relationships within the Greater Toronto Area construction and real estate markets are a significant asset.
- Experience working with corporate clients, landlords, property managers, architects, interior designers, or project management consultants is highly desirable.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated success in developing new relationships, generating opportunities, and building a sustainable business pipeline.
- Strong presentation, networking, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, organized, and self-directed approach to work.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and business development reporting.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the GTA and surrounding markets for meetings and industry events.

What Success Looks Like Success in this role will be measured by the quality and depth of relationships developed, the opportunities generated, and the contribution made to Quoin's long-term growth.

The successful candidate will

- Establish meaningful relationships with key decision-makers across Quoin's target markets.
- Generate qualified opportunities and increase Quoin's involvement in projects at the early planning and budgeting stages.
- Strengthen existing client relationships and expand opportunities for repeat and negotiated work.
- Increase awareness of Quoin's capabilities among corporate clients, landlords, consultants, and design professionals.
- Build a healthy, well-managed pipeline aligned with Quoin's expertise and strategic priorities.
- Contribute to profitable, sustainable growth without compromising Quoin's commitment to quality, service, and sound project execution.

Why Join Quoin Construction: At Quoin, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a growing construction company where relationships, quality, and thoughtful decision-making matter. We value initiative, professionalism, accountability, and people who take pride in what they do. You will work closely with senior leadership and our estimating and project management teams, with the opportunity to help shape how Quoin develops relationships and grows its business.

We are not looking for someone who simply distributes brochures, responds to tender invitations, or maintains a contact list. We are looking for someone who can open doors, build trust, recognize opportunities, and establish Quoin as a preferred construction partner.
