Overview

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires solid communication skills, organizational abilities, and a professional demeanor.

Bilingual skills and experience with retail sales or POS systems are highly valued. The Cashier will be the face of our store, ensuring every customer leaves satisfied and eager to return.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision and security
- Provide product information and perform product demos when needed
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure merchandise is properly displayed
- Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with merchandising tasks to ensure attractive product displays




- Ensure compliance with store policies regarding cash handling and transaction procedures
- Support team members during busy periods to maintain efficient store operations

Experience

- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills necessary for accurate transactions
- Experience in customer service, upselling, and merchandising enhances suitability for the role
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization during busy hours
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers effectively
