Job Summary

The Trades Worker II (Refrigeration Mechanic) is a journeyperson level position that performs skilled work in the maintenance alteration, construction, and repair of sterilizers, refrigeration systems and other mechanical equipment. Work may also involve welding, soldering and blueprint reading and performing other related duties as required.

Regularly requires physical effort using tools that require accurate control and steadiness; maintaining physical balance, standing, walking, climbing, using gross and fine motor skills, and working in awkward or cramped positions requiring strength and/or endurance.

Work is impacted by time pressures/deadlines, interruptions and lack of control over work pace as priorities change, services being interrupted, etc.

Job Qualifications

Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Certificate in Refrigeration Mechanics.

A minimum of three years of experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic is required.

Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
