Job Responsibility:

Position Title: Training and Development Manager

Term: Two-Year Trial (Full-Time)

Salary: $80,000 annually, plus perks

Funding: 60% Quatsino First Nation, 40% Economic Development

Department: Training and Development Department (new)

Position Summary:

This new position will lead the creation and implementation of culturally grounded training programs to support life skills, workforce development, and relational wellness for community members aged 18-45, as well as internal staff. The Manager will coordinate across departments and with external partners to strengthen Quatsino's self-governance and economic readiness.

This role includes conducting needs assessments, launching a community-wide training strategy, and supporting a new Training and Development Department aligned with the Nation's values and strategic planning priorities.



The position will also help secure long-term funding and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct a Nation-wide training needs assessment
- Coordinate and deliver community and staff training programs
- Develop an annual training strategy and KPIs
- Facilitate wellness-focused and job-readiness programming
- Collaborate with departments and partner organizations
- Track and report outcomes to leadership
- Develop Year 3 sustainability plan and pursue external funding

Reporting Structure:

- Reports administratively to the Director of Human Resources
- Receives strategic support from the Directors Committee
- Collaborates closely with all departments and the Economic Development Board
