Cloud-based architecture and modern technical capabilities will enable us to grow our impact while providing the best client experience possible What you'll do : At Edward Jones our Data Services team is developing and deploying cutting edge solutions to support the rapid adoption of cloud architecture. This team is responsible for multiple data platforms and implementing next-generation data infrastructure for users across the firm. In a Senior Database Administrator role, you will focus on the MongoDB infrastructure and be expected to facilitate the "you build it, you run it" mantra through the development of rapid system integrations and a steady focus on automation.



This will also bring you into contact with a diverse array of stakeholders from each area of the Technology division and will require solid collaboration skills as well as a belief in continuous improvement. - Ensure acceptable database availability and response time by leading database problem diagnosis and resolution, proactive performance monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Provide technical leadership, advice, and mentoring to: DBAs, application developers, project leaders, and business users.
- Research and evaluate emerging database technologies and trends, which could include building relationships with vendors to understand future direction of database technology.
- Design (logically and physically) large, complex, business-critical databases based on business requirements gathered from application development teams and business users.
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform complex software installation and maintenance, including new releases, database instance creation, major upgrades and software patches.
- Proficient in evaluating and recommending software and hardware solutions, gathering opinions and reaching consensus from a wide audience of stakeholders.
- Understanding of and commitment to protecting the integrity, security and privacy of the firm's critical business data.
Provide after-hours and weekend support and participate in on-call rotation (24X7).

Skills/Requirements What Experience you Need :

- Bachelor's degree and/or related work experience
- 3+ years of experience of installing/configuring Linux in a high availability database environment.
- 5+ years of experience with :
- MongoDB 4.4, or later (strongly preferred) or NoSQL
- Installation, Configuration and Administration of MongoDB or NoSQL in both on-prem and Atlas environments sharded clusters and replica sets
- MongoDB/NoSQL : data modeling, schema design, Performance tuning, Security best practice implementations, Backup, Restore and Monitoring
- Virtualization and container environment management (e.g. VMware, DC/OS, Kubernetes)
- Utilization of source code repository (GitHub)




- Knowledge of the configuration of monitoring solutions and the creation of dashboards (Splunk, Wily, Prometheus, Grafana)
