Computer Repair & Laptop Refurbishment Technician

Pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Computer Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and refurbishing laptops and desktop computers.

This position primarily involves computer hardware repairs and refurbishment, with occasional assistance in retail store operations and customer service.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in laptops and desktop computers.
- Repair and replace components, including LCD screens, keyboards, batteries, hinges, motherboards, and other internal parts.
- Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and software.
- Upgrade and replace RAM, SSDs, and other computer components.
- Inspect, test, clean, and refurbish used laptops to prepare them for resale.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure computers are fully functional before sale.
- Identify defective components and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Maintain an organized workspace and handle equipment carefully.
- Assist with daily retail store operations and sales staff when required.
- Occasionally communicate with customers regarding computer repairs and technical issues.

Requirements
- Knowledge of computer hardware,



components, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Hands-on experience repairing, upgrading, or refurbishing laptops and desktops.
- Familiarity with Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware problems independently.
- Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a computer repair shop or electronics refurbishment workplace.
- Experience repairing multiple laptop brands, including Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing smartphones is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of laptop component compatibility and replacement parts.

Compensation
- Starting pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
