About the Role

CCAs provide assistance to clients who can no longer perform activities of daily living independently. The duties are wide-ranging and include making clients feel safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities The CCA is responsible for:

Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as bathing, washing, dressing, grooming etc.

Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and tidying the client’s room and changing sheets

Setting up meals according to specific dietary requirements and assist clients during meal time

Providing companionship and emotional support to clients by spending time with them

Escorting clients to appointments and recreational activities

Helping and supervising clients with performing exercises

Transferring and moving clients in and out of a wheelchair

Turning, lifting, and positioning clients who require mobility assistance

Reporting and documenting client concerns,



incidents, and progress notes

Administering first aid in emergency situations

Taking clients’ temperature, blood pressure, and pulse

Work Location

Berwick, Kentville, Wolfville, Nova Scotia (Home-Base) - Candidates would be expected to live within commute distance (30-45 km). Additional shift coverage for facilities 50-70km would be available for pickup.

Candidate Requirements

Personal vehicle & license

1 year Canadian Facility CCA experience - Mandatory

CCA certificate or equivalent experience (Nurse Aide/Health Care Aide)

Current CCA Registry or willingness to register and commit to any educational needs required.

First Aid and CPR Certificate Level C

Basic security clearance

Criminal record check clearance

Child Abuse Registry check clearance

Vulnerable sector check clearance

Adult Abuse Registry check clearance

Highschool Diploma

Pay: $22.80-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 60.0 per week
