Controller Job Posting

Hockley Valley Resort & Adamo Estate Winery

Reports To: General Manager

Classification: Department Head | Executive Committee

Department: Finance & Accounting The Opportunity

Lead the Numbers. Influence the Business. Shape What's Next.

Hockley Valley Resort and Adamo Estate Winery offer a distinctive opportunity to lead finance at a four-season destination set across 300 acres of scenic countryside. With 108 guest rooms and a diverse range of operations—including restaurants, a lounge, banquets and events, skiing, golf, a spa, and a winery—our business offers an engaging and varied financial landscape.

We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Controller to lead our Finance & Accounting department and serve as a key member of the Executive Committee. Reporting directly to an accessible, on-site General Manager, this role offers the opportunity to work closely with operational leaders, influence business decisions, and contribute to the continued financial and operational success of both Hockley Valley Resort and Adamo Estate Winery.

This is more than an accounting role. It is an opportunity to connect financial insight with business performance, strengthen decision-making across departments, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability in a dynamic, multi-faceted operation. The role also requires regular communication, reporting, and collaboration with Sunray Corporate to ensure alignment with corporate expectations, reporting requirements, and business objectives.

Following the departure of our long-serving Controller, the successful candidate will build on an established financial foundation while bringing fresh perspectives, new ideas, and a commitment to continuous improvement. A planned transition period, with the outgoing Controller available to provide mentorship and support for several months, will help ensure a smooth handover of knowledge, systems, and relationships.

If you are a confident financial leader who enjoys working collaboratively, developing people, and helping a business reach its full potential, we invite you to explore this opportunity.
