Dental Assistant Position Summary: Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, assists staff and students in the treatment of patients. Assists in the instruction of dental students. Prepares and sets up instruments and materials.

Ensures compliance with infection control. Ensures maintenance and supply of equipment and materials. Oral surgery tasks requiring to work with animal parts – tongues / jaws. Help setting up practical exams.

Help maintaining all equipment in simulation lab / plaster room. Clean the plaster room with the help of the students. Pour impressions – knowledge of different stones. Type 1 / 2 /3 /4 / stone Trim models to specifications.

Fabricate surgical stent – surgical guide. Knowledge of denture teeth – choose correct molds. Fabricate custom trays – border molding / wax rims / teeth placement.

Dental Assistant

Certification is a requirement. Knowledge of dental laboratory procedures is considered an asset. English and French spoken and written.
