Maine Group - Event Management

Summerside

We’re an international event production and management company creating popular-culture events across Europe and North America. Our work brings together communities passionate about gaming, anime, cosplay, and the wider world of fandom.

We’re looking for an organised, outgoing, and dependable Events & Community Assistant to support event preparations, customer communication, social media, and day-to-day administration.

This is an entry-level position with room for significant growth as your skills and responsibilities develop. It would particularly suit someone finishing college or university and looking to begin a career in events/media. We also welcome applicants taking other routes into the industry.

The role

Working closely with our producers and event managers, you’ll help keep projects organised and our communities informed. Your responsibilities will include:

- Answering emails and messages from attendees, vendors, exhibitors, and customers.
- Reviewing market and vendor applications, maintaining records, and following up on outstanding information.
- Helping create and schedule social media content and responding to community enquiries.
- Maintaining event documents, schedules, checklists, and contact lists.
- Taking meeting notes and tracking actions and deadlines.
- Supporting event preparation, setup, on-site delivery, and pack-down.
- Shadowing event managers and gradually taking ownership of tasks and areas of event delivery.

About you You have a broad, active knowledge of popular culture, which may include gaming, anime, cosplay, and related fan communities. You enjoy keeping up with current releases, emerging trends, and the conversations happening within those communities.

You’re also someone who

- Is outgoing, confident, and comfortable striking up conversations with new people.
- Brings a friendly, approachable manner to interactions with attendees,

vendors, guests, and colleagues.
- Is well-presented and professional when representing the company, with appearance appropriate to the event and duties.
- Writes clear, friendly, professional emails.
- Is organised, pays attention to detail, and follows through on tasks.
- Takes initiative while knowing when to ask for guidance.
- Is comfortable using email, spreadsheets, shared documents, and social media.
- Can work scheduled event weekends and occasional evenings.
- Is comfortable with occasional national and international travel, including being away from home for several days at a time.

Experience through employment, volunteering, student societies, community projects, or organising your own activities is welcome. Previous professional event experience is not essential, we’ll provide training. What we offer

- A hybrid working arrangement, combining work from home with scheduled office time and on-site event work.
- A company laptop and access to the tools needed for the role.
- Hands-on training and experience within an international events business.
- Occasional travel to support events in Canada and internationally, with required business travel, accommodation, and meals covered by the company.
- Opportunities to develop your skills and progress towards greater event-management responsibility.

- A performance and pay review after 12 months.

This role offers flexible working hours, with 30 paid hours per week scheduled in coordination with the team. You’ll need to be available for agreed meetings and event commitments. Event periods may involve evenings, weekends, additional paid hours, and occasional national or international trips lasting several days. Known event and travel dates will be discussed during recruitment.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
