Ancaster Eye Clinic is looking for an Experienced Optical Dispenser or Licensed Optician to join our friendly and close-knit team! Proudly serving the Ancaster community since 1980, we are a family-owned practice dedicated to exceptional patient care, personalized eyewear solutions, and building lasting relationships.

About the Role

As an Experienced Optical Dispenser or Licensed Optician, you will play an important role in helping patients find eyewear solutions that suit their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style.

Our ideal candidate has strong dispensing experience, is comfortable working with premium eyewear products, and enjoys providing personalized patient care.

We are especially interested in someone who takes initiative, enjoys collaborating with a team, and has an interest in developing their skills further, with the potential opportunity to grow into an Optical Manager position in the future.

Responsibilities

- Assist patients with frame selection and recommend appropriate lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and individual needs
- Take accurate optical measurements and fit, adjust, and dispense eyeglasses
- Educate patients on premium lens options, coatings, and optical products
- Troubleshoot eyewear concerns and perform frame adjustments and minor repairs
- Assist patients with contact lens products, orders, and related inquiries
- Maintain accurate optical orders and patient information
- Support inventory management, including ordering, stock organization, and product displays




- Provide exceptional customer service while building long-term patient relationships
- Work collaboratively with optometrists and team members to ensure a positive patient experience
- Stay informed about new eyewear products, optical technology, and industry advancements

What We're Looking For

- Previous optical dispensing experience is required
- Licensed Optician or CCOA certification is considered a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of optical lenses, frames, and dispensing practices
- Experience with contact lenses is an asset
- Confidence discussing higher-end eyewear products and making personalized recommendations
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented clinic environment
- Interest in inventory management, leadership, and professional development
- A friendly, dependable, and patient-focused attitude

- Schedule: Monday to Saturday, with no Sundays
- Clinic Hours: Weekdays until 6:00 PM at the latest; Saturdays 8:30 AM–12:00 PM
