About DSC

DSC is a Canadian data and AI consulting firm helping organizations modernize their data infrastructure, improve reporting, and unlock actionable insights. We work across industries to design, build, and optimize data platforms, analytics systems, and data-driven applications that support better decision-making and lay the groundwork for AI and machine learning. Our clients range from emerging businesses to established enterprises across North America.

We focus on boutique attention and enterprise-grade impact, ensuring our clients can trust their data to drive their decisions. We pride ourselves on transparent communication and building scalable platforms using modern data stacks and industry-leading solutions.

Role overview

As DSC’s Fractional Chief Revenue Officer, you are accountable for DSC’s revenue growth. You will lead sales strategy and build the process, referral and upsell approach, and the team needed to grow to a C$10M annual revenue run rate by Q4 2029. That means moving new business from founder-led and referral-driven to a repeatable sales engine. You report to the Founder and CEO. As the business grows, the sales team is expected to report to you.

You are measured on DSC’s overall revenue. You would have a clear mandate, direct access to the CEO, and you would lead decisions on sales channel priorities, process, account ownership and pricing within standard terms.

Accountabilities

- Own the revenue plan and forecast, translating the Q4 2029 target into annual and quarterly targets for pipeline, bookings and revenue by channel, running a weekly pipeline and forecast review, and reporting through DSC’s internal analytics.
- Design and run a repeatable sales process, including the ideal customer profile, priority segments, pipeline stages, qualification criteria,

discovery and proposal standards, pricing discipline and CRM standards.
- Coach and develop the sales team, building the process with them and setting priorities against the revenue plan.
- Build sales-sourced pipeline through outbound and account-based selling into priority segments, with target account lists, multi-step outreach, and meeting and opportunity targets.
- Build partner-sourced revenue by running co-sell with cloud data platform partners (account mapping, deal registration, joint pursuits) and growing the referral and partner network.
- Advise on marketing channels and own the lead handoff, agreeing lead definitions, sales acceptance criteria and follow-up times with Marketing, and giving input on paid search, SEO and other demand channels based on lead quality.
- Lead the referral and upsell strategy for existing customers, working with Customer Success and Delivery. Shape account plans for key customers, define the handoff from sale to delivery, and turn completed work into references.
- Lead retention and expansion strategy for existing customers, overseeing the renewal calendar and account health alongside the Customer Success Lead. Provide executive support on key accounts as needed, including renewal, expansion and at-risk situations.

Required qualifications

- 10+ years in B2B sales, including 5+ in a senior sales leadership role (CRO, VP Sales, Head of Sales) at a professional services, consulting or IT services firm.
- A verifiable record of building and scaling a sales engine at a services firm through a comparable stage (ideally from under $5M to $10M+ in annual revenue),

including moving new business from founder-led to team-led.
- Outbound and partner-sourced pipeline built for a services firm, with measurable results.
- Experience selling high-value technical services to both technical and business buyers (e.g. CTOs, heads of data, CFOs).
- Experience selling to mid-sized and enterprise companies across North America.
- A sales process, pipeline management and forecasting built and run in a up-to-date CRM.
- Experience hiring, coaching and managing small sales teams.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in data, analytics, cloud or software engineering services.
- Co-sell motions with technology vendor partner programs, and referral programs with revenue share.
- Referral and account expansion programs built at a services firm.
- Working knowledge of paid search, SEO and other demand channels, enough to judge lead quality.
- Prior fractional or interim executive engagements.
- An established network among data leaders and executives at mid-sized and enterprise companies.

Engagement details

- About 30 hours a month to start, roughly one day a week. Hours and scope are expected to grow as agreed revenue milestones are met.
- Potential for the role to convert to full-time as the business grows.
- Target start in early January 2027, with an initial six-month term. We anticipate a longer engagement as results are delivered.
- Engaged as an independent contractor through your own company.
- Remote, with occasional travel to the Greater Toronto Area and to client meetings and industry events in Canada and the US.

Compensation A competitive hourly rate, paid as a monthly retainer, plus a quarterly performance bonus tied to DSC’s revenue growth. We will contact candidates whose experience aligns with the role.

DSC is committed to providing accommodations for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. If you require accommodation at any stage, please contact us at [email protected].
