Answer Trailer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Manager specializing in Fleet Services to lead our service team at our Spruce Grove facility. The Service Manager manages the fleet division of the service department team and handles service complaints, work reports, and scheduled repairs. The Service Manager-Fleet ensures his team provides excellent customer service, works to increase the value of his team, and ensures productive, accurate repairs in a timely fashion.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Overseeing all INTERNAL FLEET work orders.

· Organizing and directing the labour team.

· Overseeing all technicians. Ensure that all technicians arrive on time, stay on task, and follow all processes and procedures.

· Completing annual reviews with the shop staff.

· Taking part in weekly service management meetings.

· Direct the Service Coordinator as needed. Provide training and coaching as needed.

· Overseeing all “Trailer Washing” functions. Accountable for fleet cleanliness and washing labour management. First point of contact for customer unit washes. Ensure customer washes are noted and billed to the respective work orders.

· Oversee all washing equipment and tools. Complete preventative maintenance and provide repair approvals as needed.

· Completed new trailer warranty repairs process. Communicated with Vendors for approvals.

· Proper tracking of shop warranty repairs (faulty repairs completed to fleet work orders)

· Discipline the shop staff as needed.

· Oversee all maintenance of service equipment including yard vehicles, yard equipment, service trailers.

· Assist with on-the-road repairs for the fleet. Ensure that the respective projects are completed.

· Complete QC inspections and control for fleet repairs. Hold employees accountable for poor quality work. Documents the QC.

· Communicate all required service sublets scheduling to the Service Coordinator.



The Service Coordinator will contact the vendor and provide PO# and arrangements. PO# to be requested from the purchaser.

· Work in a safe manner. Follow all safety procedures written and unwritten. Lead by example.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have their Heavy-Duty Journeyman Technician Ticket with 5-7 years’ related service experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

· Must possess general knowledge of the technical areas covered under responsibilities and activities.

· Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.

· Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

· Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

· Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.

· Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

· Ability to coordinate quality assurance programs in area of specialty.

· Ability to resolve, implement, and enforce safety programs.

· Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.

· Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications; specifically, parts and inventory computer systems.

· Management, supervisory and leadership skills.

· Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
