Heavy Duty Mechanic - Winter Ice Road (Remote Camps) Travel: Paid flights | Hotel provided | Paid Travel Days | Per diem for travel days Matrix is seeking strong and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our maintenance team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping our surface fleet operating safely, reliably, and ready for production every shift. We’re looking for an experienced surface mechanic with demonstrated competency maintaining equipment with loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, SnowCats, Haul trucks and light/heavy duty trucks, with robust working knowledge of CAT systems, including CAT ET and SIS.

Experience working in the North, including cold-weather operations, is an asset. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on surface fleet equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults (as applicable to fleet) Troubleshoot electronic and control system issues using manufacturer diagnostics, including: Conduct work in accordance with all site safety procedures (LOTO, confined space where applicable, etc.)



Participate in failure analysis / root cause troubleshooting and continuous improvement Red Seal / Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic 3–5 years mining equipment care and maintenance experience (minimum) Demonstrated experience maintaining surface fleet equipment Mechanical systems Electrical systems (12V/24V/480V where applicable) Wiring diagrams Valid safety training/certifications as required by the site (e.g., Experience working in remote and northern conditions / cold temperatures Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality Clear communication with operators and maintenance team Bonus (Preferred) Experience with CMMS/computerized maintenance systems Track record of reducing downtime through preventive maintenance and root cause problem solving Red Seal / Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic 3–5 years mining equipment care and maintenance experience (minimum) Demonstrated experience maintaining surface fleet equipment Mechanical systems Electrical systems (12V/24V/480V where applicable) Wiring diagrams Valid safety training/certifications as required by the site (e.g., Experience working in remote and northern conditions / cold temperatures
