Home Child Care Provider – Children with Disabilities

Work Location: Employer's home / Client's home – On site

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Schedule: Day, Weekend, Flexible hours, On call, Overtime available

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 to less than 7 months of experience in child care or a related field.

Work Setting

- Work in the employer's home
- Work in the client's home
- On-site work; no remote option

Main Duties
- Supervise and care for infants and children in a safe and nurturing home environment.
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
- Change diapers and assist children with toilet training according to the parents' instructions.
- Sterilize bottles and prepare infant formulas.
- Prepare meals and snacks appropriate for infants and children.
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods and maintain their daily routines.
- Monitor children's activities, behaviour, health, and overall well-being.
- Keep records of children's daily activities, routines, and health information.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children.
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children's living areas and daily care.
- Assume responsibility for the household and children's care when the parents are absent.
- Accompany the family on trips and assist with child supervision and light housekeeping duties.
- Follow parents' instructions regarding childcare routines, discipline, feeding, hygiene,



and daily activities.
- Communicate with parents regarding children's needs, activities, health, and development.
- Provide additional care and supervision for children with special needs, when required.

Experience and Specialization Experience caring for children, including:

- Infants and young children
- Children with physical disabilities
- Children with intellectual disabilities
- Children with epilepsy
- Children requiring additional supervision and support
