Position Summary

Aburi Market Downtown is looking for a Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations by preparing high-quality food while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards. This role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented cook with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow within a professional kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Wash and cook rice and prepare onigiri according to established procedures
- Perform general food preparation, including cutting and portioning ingredients and food items
- Maintain organization, cleanliness,



and proper food handling in all work areas
- Assist with prep, production, and service during busy periods
- Support inventory organization and assist with ordering as needed (or willingness to learn)
- Perform kitchen steward duties, including cleaning stations, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
- Ensure ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and rotated
- Lift, move, and organize products and supplies up to 50 lbs
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 6 months of kitchen experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to assist with or learn ordering and inventory processes
- Previous Asian cooking experience is an asset, due to ingredients used
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Must have weekend availability

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
