Overview

Sofina Foods Inc. is seeking a Lead Hand to join our Distribution team at our Blumenort facility. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Distribution Department, training employees, ensuring compliance with safety and food safety requirements, and promoting an efficient and productive work environment.

Work Hours:

The regular shift is 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday to Friday. Start and end times may vary based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

- Train and support employees within the department.
- Follow established safety practices and ensure preventative maintenance programs are being followed.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation for logistics and shipping operations.
- Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
- Ensure all HACCP documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Promote and maintain a positive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, HACCP, SQF, regulatory, and Company requirements.

Requirements·

- Shipping and/or Distribution experience required.
- Physical ability to perform job duties.




- Ability to work well within and promote a positive team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Working knowledge of HACCP.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles is considered an asset.
- Previous leadership experience is considered an asset.
- Class 1 Licence is considered an asset; however, the successful candidate must be willing and able to attain their Class 1 Licence.
