Buffalo Creek Mills is an oat processing facility located one mile north of Altona, Manitoba. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible to maintain peak operability of all equipment and maximize uptime of all plant through the effective management of the maintenance team and third party service providers .

Management of maintenance team - Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform corrective and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.

- Develop proactive maintenance plans and procedures for all plant equipment - Operate and evaluate the performance of all of equipment - Assist in design and construction of plant expansions - Advise CEO of maintenance related capital expenditure requirements A “safety first” orientation, with a demonstrated understanding of food safety and related safety equipment. Food safety knowledge including HACCP, GMP, GFSI-BRC/SQF, is an asset. · Strong planning and execution skills while also achieving high levels of efficiency and output. This includes a proven ability to prioritize day-to-day activities and longer-term initiatives, and to organize operations and resources for effective delivery. · Strong technical aptitude and a degree of mechanical knowledge of facilities and equipment · A strength in troubleshooting and root cause analysis,



proactively applied to the achievement of zero losses and to minimizing break-down costs and consequences · Superior interpersonal, team building and communication (written, oral, presentation) skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within and beyond the organization including management, staff, vendors, customers, partners and other stakeholders. · Strong organizational and administrative skills and experience in developing and managing Maintenance budgets, forecasts, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). · Preference will be given to those applicants with a valid Industrial Mechanic certificate. · Willingness to upgrade technical skills as required. · An overall understanding of industrial electronics / controls or an electrical license is an asset. · Class 5 Power Engineer Certificate is an asset Minimum 7 years’ experience in industrial maintenance role. Preferably in a grain milling facility. · Good communication skills and able to speak and read English. · Basic computer skills (Excel and Word) · Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and general food safety practices. · Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team workplace · Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm · Call-ins and Overtime are required.
