Our client, an established international organization in the safety and survival equipment industry, is seeking an Management Accountant to support its Canadian operations based in St. John's, NL.

In this permanent career role, you will work closely with international finance colleagues, balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with broader financial oversight, and play a key role in maintaining the stability and effectiveness of the Canadian finance function.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and full-cycle accounting for the Canadian business
- Lead the month-end close process and prepare accurate financial statements and monthly management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and financial planning activities
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing
- Maintain appropriate internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial records
- Coordinate statutory reporting requirements and support Canadian tax compliance and required filings
- Liaise with external accountants, tax professionals, and other service providers as required
- Collaborate with the international finance team to support reporting requirements and maintain alignment with group processes
- Develop and maintain effective financial processes to support the Canadian operation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and overall financial efficiency

Experience & Attributes for Success:

- CPA designation preferred
- Robust experience in full-cycle accounting, financial accounting, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close, preparing financial statements, and supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Working knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, statutory reporting, and internal controls
- Ability to work independently,



prioritize competing demands, and take ownership of responsibilities with limited day-to-day supervision
- A hands-on approach, with the ability to manage detailed accounting tasks while maintaining a broader understanding of business needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams and time zones
- Adaptability and sound judgment when working through organizational change and evolving business requirements
