Carlos O’Bryan’s Nanaimo is looking for a motivated, energetic, and experienced Manager to join our team! Located on the waterfront, we’re a lively Irish pub known for our welcoming atmosphere, great food and drinks, sports, and strong sense of community.

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys developing a strong team, and knows how to create an outstanding experience for every guest. The ideal candidate leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in running a successful operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house staff to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Oversee daily pub operations, ensuring smooth and effective service.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.
- Manage staff scheduling, shift coverage, and labour costs.
- Monitor sales, expenses, inventory, and operating standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and responsible alcohol service.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally.
- Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to maintain quality and consistency.
- Help drive sales through promotions, events, and outstanding guest experiences.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace culture.

What We’re Looking For





- Previous hospitality management or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Experience with staff scheduling, labour management, and inventory control.
- A solid understanding of restaurant or pub operations.
- The ability to stay organized and make sound decisions in a busy environment.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the floor.
- Valid Serving It Right certification, as required.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for hospitality.
