Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while providing care across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team dedicated to supporting adults experiencing mental health and addiction challenges.

About the Mental Health Care Department The Mental Health Care Department at STEGH provides compassionate, evidence-based care to adults experiencing mental health and addiction concerns. Services are delivered through inpatient, outpatient, and community-based programs that support assessment, treatment, recovery, and transitions in care.

Registered Practical

Nurses (RPNs) Occupational Therapists Recreational Therapists Other specialized healthcare professionals Together, we provide recovery-oriented, individualized care that supports the diverse needs of our patients and families. Our 15-bed inpatient mental health unit provides short-term acute assessment, stabilization, and treatment for adults aged 18 years and older. Psychiatric assessment and diagnosis Treatment planning and medication management Collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams Supporting secure discharge planning and community transitions Our outpatient program provides psychiatric consultation, assessment, treatment, and ongoing support for adults experiencing acute mental health concerns.
