Our client, a major player in the mining industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Equipment Maintenance Technician to join their operations near Kimberley. This critical role focuses on the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty mining machinery, including haul trucks, excavators, drills, and underground equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical and electrical expertise, a strong safety record, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding, physically challenging environment.

You will be essential in ensuring the continuous operation and safety of vital mining equipment, contributing directly to the productivity of the mine. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all types of heavy mining equipment.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures in mining machinery.

Conduct routine inspections and tests to identify potential issues before they cause breakdowns.

Utilize diagnostic software and equipment to troubleshoot complex equipment problems.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.

Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, prioritizing a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.





Operate various shop and field tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency repair needs as required.

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in heavy equipment, preferably within the mining sector.

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic and repair skills.

Experience working with major mining equipment manufacturers (e.g., Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams.

Willingness to work shifts, including potential weekend work and participation in an on-call schedule.

Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic) are essential.

Must be able to work in and around Kimberley, with potential travel to other mine sites as needed.
