Okanagan Montessori is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and qualified Montessori Guide to join our Kindergarten and Grade 1 classroom!

Established in 1992, Okanagan Montessori is a non-profit society governed by a board, with a long-standing commitment to providing meaningful, child-centred Montessori education. Our programs have grown to serve children from infancy through elementary school, creating a community where children are encouraged to develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We believe in creating a prepared environment where children are respected as individuals, encouraged to follow their interests, and supported in developing at their own pace. We are looking for an educator who shares these values and is excited to be part of a collaborative school community.

About the Role The successful candidate will guide and support children in our Kindergarten and Grade 1 classroom within an authentic Montessori environment. This role requires someone who understands Montessori principles, values hands-on learning, and is committed to fostering independence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging in every child.

Responsibilities include:

- Preparing and maintaining an engaging,



organized Montessori classroom environment.Presenting Montessori lessons and materials appropriate to each child's developmental needs.
- Observing children's progress and supporting their individual learning journeys.
- Encouraging independence, concentration, problem-solving, and a love of learning.
- Supporting children's social-emotional development through positive guidance and Grace and Courtesy.
- Building respectful relationships with children and colleagues.
- Collaborating with the teaching team to maintain a calm, welcoming, and purposeful learning environment.

Required Qualifications
- Recognized Montessori teaching certificate appropriate for the age group.
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a Montessori classroom.
- A strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, materials, and classroom practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- A warm, patient, respectful approach to working with children.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Please note that Okanagan Montessori is unable to provide LMIA support or sponsorship. Applicants must already be legally eligible to work in Canada. Pay: $23.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
