About the Role The Roadrunner Food Co. is seeking a reliable, organized, and enthusiastic Morning Baker & Line Cook to join our culinary team at Devil’s Glen Country Club.

This hands-on position combines early-morning baking and food preparation with breakfast and lunch line service. From preparing fresh baked goods and stocking the kitchen for the day ahead to executing breakfast favourites and lunch offerings, this role is essential to creating a welcoming and high-quality food experience for our members and guests.

The ideal candidate takes pride in consistency, enjoys working independently during early hours, and can transition seamlessly from baking and prep into fast-paced kitchen service.

Key ResponsibilitiesMorning Baking & Preparation

- Prepare and bake muffins, scones, cookies, pastries, quick breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes.
- Measure and prepare ingredients accurately, maintaining consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation.
- Complete daily baking production in time for opening service.
- Prepare batters, doughs, fillings, toppings, and other components as required.
- Maintain appropriate product rotation, labeling, storage, and freshness standards.
- Monitor baking inventory and communicate ingredient shortages or purchasing needs.
- Keep the baking area clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift.

Breakfast & Lunch Line Service
- Prepare and execute breakfast and lunch menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Complete daily mise en place and ensure the line is fully stocked and ready for service.
- Prepare eggs, breakfast sandwiches, hot breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, and other menu offerings as assigned.
- Support buffet service, food stations, and high-volume cafeteria operations as required.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes,



food quality, temperature, and presentation.
- Work efficiently during peak service periods while maintaining accuracy and minimizing wait times.
- Replenish food items as needed and communicate shortages or changing production requirements to the kitchen team.

Food Safety & Kitchen Standards
- Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, dating, and stock rotation using FIFO procedures.
- Monitor food temperatures and follow safe cooling, reheating, and holding procedures.
- Maintain clean workstations, equipment, and production areas throughout the shift.
- Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and equipment maintenance procedures.
- Ensure allergens are managed appropriately and cross-contact is prevented.

Teamwork & Operations
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, and culinary team to meet daily production needs.
- Follow daily prep lists, production schedules, and established recipes.
- Communicate product availability, quality concerns, and equipment issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts, receiving, and stock organization as required.
- Adapt to changing service volumes, seasonal demands, and special event requirements.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in baking, food preparation, breakfast service, or line cooking.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient measurement, and recipe execution.
- Experience in a high-volume kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, or catering environment is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.




- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during early-morning shifts.
- Comfortable transitioning between baking, prep, and active line service.
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling practices.
- Food Handler Certification as required by applicable regulations.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for early starts.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak winter-season shifts as required.

Working Environment This is an active, hands-on culinary position in a fast-paced, seasonal private club setting. The role involves early starts, extended periods of standing, working around hot ovens and cooking equipment, and lifting and moving kitchen supplies as required.
