Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ophthalmic Assistant to join our healthcare team in a full-time position. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic ophthalmology practice, assisting with patient care, administrative duties, and supporting clinical operations. The ideal candidate will have a robust interest in eye health, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.

Prior experience in medical offices or optical settings is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.

Duties

- Greet and assist patients during their visits, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories
- Assist with patient testing, including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements and adminstering eye drops
- Support physician during eye exams and procedures, ensuring smooth workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment




- Ensure patient comfort and professionalism throughout the visit
- Prepare and organize patient charts before examinations
- Document patient information accurately
- Support front desk with administrative duties as needed

Requirements

- Experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or medical clinic settings preferred
- Understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology and general healthcare
- Excellent patient care skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced clinical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
