Part-Time Picture Framing Assistant

Are you creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about art and design?

Bloch Bauers Gallery of Fine Art is looking for a Part-Time Picture Framing Assistant to join our Bloch Bauers Frame Studio team.

We are seeking someone with basic picture framing knowledge, a good eye for colour and design, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and assist with custom framing consultations.
- Help customers select frames, mat colours, and materials that complement their artwork.
- Accurately measure artwork, photographs, certificates, jerseys, and other items.
- Perform mat cutting, frame preparation, assembly, and finishing.
- Take customer orders, prepare quotes, process payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Provide creative recommendations based on customers' preferences and budgets.
- Handle artwork and valuable items with care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Frame Studio.
- Assist with general gallery operations when required.

Qualifications
- Basic knowledge or experience in picture framing is preferred.
- Artistic ability and a strong sense of colour, proportion, and design.




- Good measuring skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple orders.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale skills.
- Reliable, organized, and willing to learn.
- Experience in art, photography, design, or a related creative field is an asset.

Position Details
- Position: Part time
- Location: North Bay, Ontario
- Schedule: Flexible hours, including some Saturdays.
