Lead Waste-to-Energy engineering at WSP, applying process design and technology expertise to convert complex waste streams into valuable energy products. As a Principal Engineer, you will advise clients across feasibility, technology selection, detailed design, construction, commissioning, optimization, and operations. The role supports WSP’s Energy, Resources and Industrial team.

You will serve as a subject matter expert for municipal, industrial, agricultural, biomass, and organic waste solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Waste-to-Energy projects from feasibility through commissioning and operations
- Review mass balances, energy balances, flow diagrams, and system integration
- Select thermal, biological, and advanced waste conversion technologies
- Evaluate boilers, turbines, digesters, gas cleaning,



and recovery equipment
- Mentor multidisciplinary teams and provide technical oversight Requirements:
- 15+ years in engineering, operations, consulting, or project delivery
- 10+ years with Waste-to-Energy or heavy thermal industrial facilities
- Deep understanding of thermal and biological conversion technologies
- Experience with process simulation, thermal modelling, and design reviews
- Ability to lead complex engineering work and advise clients Bring technical leadership, process integration, and waste conversion expertise to WSP’s energy recovery projects.
