The Position:

Acadian Seaplants Limited is expanding and growing, and we are on the hunt for Multiple Red Seal Welders to work out of our Cornwallis, Nova Scotia production facility.

While working as part of a team, you will perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety while performing your duties. The successful candidate must have experience in TIG welding, stainless steel sanitary piping and fabricating steel structures. You must also be able to interpret engineering drawings and sketches sufficiently to fabricate and modify equipment.

Your Role:

- Following engineering drawings and sketches to fabricate structures and install stainless steel piping systems.
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy, precision and productivity in performing routine and repetitive tasks.
- Assisting in daily repairs, projects and maintenance program.
- Administering a daily log and entering info for every work order completed.
- Providing support to other plant personal through reporting, assisting and timely follow- ups on repairs and preventive maintenance.




- Supporting the company’s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership towards meeting the company’s objectives in these areas.
- Undertaking other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications/Competencies:

- Experience with TIG welding stainless steel piping is required.
- Experience with fabricating steel structures and stick welding is required.
- Experience in a process plant workplace with industrial mechanic qualification would be considered an asset.
- Experience maintaining industrial or processing equipment and machinery in a plant environment will be considered an asset.
- Individual must be flexible, adaptable and versatile with a willingness to tackle anything. Work is frequently done using mobile lift equipment. Work is occasionally done in confined spaces.
- Effective observational skills and good time management skills are important as is the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Welding or Millwright trade certification is desirable.
- This position includes being on call weekends and nights on a rotational basis.
