REGISTERED NURSE - ONCOLOGY AND MEDICAL DAY CARE One (1) casual Registered Nurse position is available within the Groves Oncology and Medical Day Care Clinic. The Oncology & Medical Day Care Nurse will be involved in all aspects of the oncology and medical day care program including, but not limited to: patient/family assessment, administering & teaching chemotherapy, medical day care activities, providing supportive and palliative care, participation in the development & implementation of patient treatment plans, quality improvement processes, and facilitation of referrals and research initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate clinical expertise in oncology nursing, patient education, and symptom management in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing BScN is an asset Completion of de Souza Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice preferred Certificate in Oncology Nursing CON(C) an asset Experience with intravenous insertion,



PICC and Port-a-cath access Knowledge & application of principles of oncology and palliative care nursing Familiarity with regional cancer programs and patient navigation pathways is an asset Proven ability to provide holistic, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, emotionally complex environment Demonstrated competency in the administration of cytotoxic agents, patient assessment, and management of oncologic emergencies Computer literacy; working knowledge of a variety of computer systems & software applications.
