Union: ONA Number of Positions: 2 New or Replacement role: Replacement Site: Toronto General Hospital Department: Allied Health,Respiratory Therapy Reports to: Manager, Allied Health Salary: $41.25 - $51.56 per hour Hours: 0-37.5 hours per week Shifts: Various (Days, Nights, Weekends) Status: Permanent Part Time Closing Date: November 16, 2026 Position Summary Respiratory Therapists provide respiratory therapy service 24/7 to patients in the Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, Post Anesthetic Care Rooms, Wards and in other specialty areas such as the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit.



attending intra and inter-hospital transports of critically ill patients; acting as a resource for the nurses, residents and allied health personnel in Respiratory/Airway related care; participating in teaching patients the use of Respiratory Therapy equipment for both hospital and home care use; performing diagnostic tests such as bedside spirometry, oxygen saturation, blood gas analysis, administering oxygen and other medical gas therapy; being an integral member of the healthcare team. Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Adult Critical Care preferred Registration with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists Registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario Certified Hyperbaric Medical Technologist(CHT) preferred Ability to work in a Hyperbaric environment required and Hyperbaric Medicine experience preferred Ability to perform without direct supervision Commitment to personal and professional development In addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
