Position Summary: Our Barrie Transit team is seeking Snow Plow Operators (Seasonal) to ensure that all transit service stops and transit facilities are kept in a clean, orderly, well maintained and secure condition. The following is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the essential functions of the Snow Plow Operators (Seasonal) position, but rather a general description of some of the requirements necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position.

The Snow Plow

Operators (Seasonal) must be able to perform the following tasks, among others: Cleans windows, glass partitions using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications Documents and reports any deficiencies requiring maintenance Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures Removes snow from sidewalks and areas surrounding transit service stops using snow blowers, and snow shovels,



and spreads snow melting chemicals Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties Accurately maintains proper shift documentation reports, and records Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance including strict adherence to company supplied uniforms, being properly dressed, neatly groomed and with good hygiene according to Company standards Demonstrates regular and consistent attendance and punctuality in compliance with Company policies Attends all required in-service training, Company required safety meetings and training and other required meetings High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products Ability to work independently and objectively with little or no supervision An opportunity to work close to home and minimize your commute time Challenging and rewarding work providing safe transport to members of the public Ability to work independently in a state-of-the-art facility Employee Discounts with local businesses Seasonal position November 2026 until March 2027 ~overnight shifts 9pm - 5:30am ~ provided two (2) consecutive days off per week ~ paid training ~ Wages : $24.22/hour plus a $1 shift premium if the shift begins after 3pm = $25.22/hour.
