Job Title : Security Guard - Shelter Job Type : Full-time Shift Type : Mondays to Fridays Shift Schedules: 11pm to 7am (Nights, Mornings) Allied Universal is currently hiringa dedicated and reliable Security Guard to join our team at a shelter in Hamilton, ON. Prior experience working in shelter is an asset. This role is crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Monitor Facility Access : Control access to the shelter, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry.

Conflict Resolution : Address and de-escalate any disputes or conflicts between residents, guests, or staff.

Emergency Response : Respond promptly to emergencies (medical, fire,



security, etc.), Safety & Security : Conduct regular patrols of the building and surrounding areas to ensure safety and prevent incidents of theft, vandalism, or other criminal activities. Secure doors and windows after hours.

Collaboration with Shelter Staff : Work closely with shelter management and staff to implement security protocols, and provide support for residents in need of additional assistance. Familiarity with access control systems and alarm monitoring. ~1-2 years of experience working in security, preferably shelter location. ~ Experience with report writing and note-taking. ~ Knowledge of CCTV monitoring systems. ~ Valid ON Security Guard License. ~ High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience. ~ Should be comfortable around dogs. ~ Should be able to patrol the site independently during overnight shifts.
