Job Title : Senior Substation Engineer

Hybrid/Remote : Hybrid, onsite 3 days/week

Location : Quebec, QC

Duration : Permanent, full-time

Salary Range: $135,000 to $155,000 (DOE)

Job Notes

- Design work exp in substations
- High-voltage expertise: 115 kV to 230 kV
- Compliance exp with specifications & industry standards
- EPC contractors do the detailed designs; this candidate would review, approve, and be responsible/accountable for those designs
- Ability to understand and adapt to different requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications

- Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience : Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in substation design.
- Licensure : Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise

- Substation Design : Deep understanding of substation and transmission line equipment, design principles,



and the full project lifecycle (from preliminary design to "as-built" packages).

Codes & Standards : Strong command of industry engineering codes and practices to ensure safe, cost-effective, and reliable designs.

- Software : Proficient with electrical engineering design software such as ETAP, ASPEN, and PSCAD.

Leadership & Execution

- Problem Solving : Capable of independently diagnosing and resolving complex engineering challenges.
- Teamwork & Mentorship : Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional project tasks.
- Communication : Clear verbal and written communication skills with solid organizational habits.
- Process Improvement : Ability to support and drive continuous workflow improvements.
