About Prowind

Prowind is an international renewable energy development company with operations in Canada, Germany and the United States. We develop wind and solar energy projects, working with landowners, Indigenous communities, municipalities, utilities and other partners to bring renewable energy projects from initial concept through development and construction.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Wind & Solar Project Developer to advance our existing Canadian projects and lead the identification and development of new opportunities across Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

The Chance

This is a senior development position for an experienced professional who has personally developed utility-scale wind and solar projects in Canada.

The successful candidate will take substantial responsibility for our Canadian development portfolio, from identifying new opportunities and securing land agreements through permitting, grid interconnection, project economics and construction readiness.

The position reports to the Managing Director of Prowind Canada and includes technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Project Development and Delivery

- Evaluate project sites, including wind and solar resources, land suitability, grid availability, environmental constraints and commercial feasibility.
- Manage land acquisition, environmental assessments, permitting, interconnection applications and procurement requirements.
- Coordinate consultants, technical studies, project schedules and development budgets.
- Identify development risks, resolve obstacles and provide clear recommendations for advancing projects.

Project Origination and Portfolio Growth

- Identify and evaluate new wind and solar development opportunities across Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

- Develop and maintain a pipeline of commercially viable projects.
- Lead early-stage site screening, landowner negotiations and project feasibility assessments.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Build and maintain productive relationships with landowners, municipalities, Indigenous communities, utilities and regulatory agencies.
- Lead land negotiations, municipal engagement and community consultation activities.
- Support the development of partnerships that contribute to successful, long-term project development.

Financial and Commercial Management

- Prepare and manage project development budgets and schedules.
- Evaluate preliminary project economics, including capital costs, revenue assumptions, financial returns and development risks.
- Work with project financial models and provide commercially sound recommendations to management.

Technical Leadership

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other development professionals.
- Coordinate internal and external technical resources.
- Help establish consistent development practices and project evaluation standards.
- Work closely with the Managing Director on development strategy and portfolio priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

- Minimum five years of relevant wind and solar project development experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing both utility-scale wind and solar projects.
- Proven Canadian renewable energy development experience, preferably in Ontario or Atlantic Canada.
- A demonstrated track record of advancing projects through major development milestones,

with at least one project reaching construction or commercial operation.
- Practical experience with land acquisition, permitting, environmental assessments, grid interconnection and regulatory approvals.
- Direct experience negotiating with landowners, engaging municipalities, addressing community concerns and participating in Indigenous engagement processes.
- Strong technical understanding of utility-scale renewable energy development and project feasibility.
- Ability to prepare development budgets, evaluate project economics and work with financial models.
- Strong organizational, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage competing project priorities and take responsibility for results.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

Additional Assets

- Established relationships within the Canadian renewable energy industry.
- Experience with renewable energy procurement processes and competitive project submissions.
- Proficiency with GIS and other project development tools.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other project developers.
