This is a great prospect for someone with supervisory experience in hospitality, food services, cleaning, laundry, security, or administration who is looking to grow into a leadership role.Preferred QualificationsPersons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment)Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects in the Sioux Lookout Zone is an assetHigh school diploma completion or education/experience deemed acceptable to SLFNHAExperience in one or more of the following areas is an asset: hospitality, food services, cleaning, laundry, security, or administration, preferably in a healthcare settingMinimum of 1 year of experience supervising and scheduling teamsExperience/ability with employee relations and disciplinary meetingsAbility to handle and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise within the team or with clientsKnowledge of Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and standardsExcellent organizational and time management skills to effectively coordinate operations and meet deadlinesProficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and documentation purposesA valid full driving license issued within Ontario would be considered an assetMust be certified with Basic First Aid/CPR/AED, or able to obtainThe ability to perform the requirements of the position on a regular basisWorking ConditionsShifts include 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, and 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, on a rotating basisOn-call responsibility is requiredWill involve exposure to heat, cold, and various equipment depending on site and responsibilitiesWill require working evenings, weekends, and holidaysConsiderable standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and bendingAbout Working with UsThe Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA) serves 33 First Nation communities in the Sioux Lookout region in Ontario, Canada.
