The Role We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to be the technical lead for customers from first demo through go-live and beyond. Before the sale, you'll work with our sales team to understand how a prospect's projects run, show them how Buildend fits their workflows, and build confidence in the solution. After the sale, you'll set up their workflows, get their teams onboarded, and keep helping them get more value as they grow.

The role suits someone who understands how construction projects work, explains technical ideas in plain language, and enjoys both winning a deal and seeing a customer succeed.

What You'll DoPre-sales

- Run discovery with GCs, owners, and subcontractors to understand their project delivery, document control, and financial processes
- Deliver tailored product demos that map Buildend to real workflows like RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress billing
- Answer technical questions, complete security and IT questionnaires, and respond to RFPs alongside the sales team
- Design and run proofs of concept and trials that show clear value
- Share customer feedback and market insight with the product team

Solutions and onboarding

- Turn signed requirements into a clear implementation plan
- Configure projects, workflows, approval processes, permissions, and templates for new customers




- Help customers migrate data and documents from spreadsheets, shared drives, or legacy systems
- Train office and field users, both in person and remotely
- Stay a trusted technical contact through rollout so customers adopt the platform and see value

Post-sales

- Check in with customers after go-live to review how their workflows are running and where they can improve
- Help customers roll Buildend out to new projects, teams, and modules
- Recommend process and configuration changes as a customer's needs evolve
- Work with our support team to resolve complex technical issues
- Spot opportunities for customers to get more from Buildend and share them with sales

What You'll Bring

- 3–5 years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, implementation, or technical consulting, ideally in B2B SaaS
- Working knowledge of how construction projects run: documents, RFIs, submittals, change management, cost control, and closeout
- A solutions-oriented mindset: you enjoy designing best-in-class processes and tailoring software to each customer's needs and workflows
- Strong presentation skills, comfortable in front of an owner's rep or a superintendent
- Ability to translate business problems into configured solutions
- Valuable organization when juggling several prospects and implementations at once
- Willingness to travel to customer offices and job sites as needed

Nice to have

- Experience with other construction management, ERP, or accounting platforms
- Familiarity with integrations, APIs, or data migration
- Construction management degree, PMP, or similar credential
- Construction industry experience (project management, project controls, estimating, or field operations) or experience selling software into construction
