Position SummaryThe Construction Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis, and provide tender support for building repair and rehabilitation projects. The role also includes assisting with technical site inspections and project coordination activities, ensuring that all work aligns with applicable codes and standards.Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Estimating & Cost Analysis:Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and site conditionsPrepare cost estimates and scope-based pricing for building repair and rehabilitation projectsAnalyze labour, materials, and equipment requirements to support accurate cost analysisSupport tendering processes, including bid comparison and cost evaluationCoordinate with contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and maintain vendor relationshipsEvaluate change orders, review progress payment applications, and assist in preparing budget forecastsTechnical Support & Site Inspections:Assist with site inspections of building envelope systems, including documenting field data, photographic records,



and observed deficienciesSupport field testing and investigations and assist in preparing technical reports and specificationsInterpret construction drawings and ensure proposed scopes comply with applicable building codes and standardsProject Coordination:Coordinate project activities between clients, contractors, and internal teamsTrack project progress and assist with scheduling and project deliverablesParticipate in progress meetings and maintain accurate project documentationQualificationsDiploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related fieldMinimum 2–4 years of experience in construction estimating, quantity take-offs, and cost analysisExperience with tendering processes and contractor coordinationFamiliarity with building envelope or rehabilitation projects is an assetStrong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExperience with Bluebeam or similar take-off softwareStrong communication, organizational, and time management skillsWork ConditionsCombination of office and field workTravel within the Greater Toronto AreaAbility to access active construction sitesBenefitsComprehensive health care planTravel and life insuranceOn-site free parkingLocation & CompensationAddress: 500 Hood Rd, Suite 320, Markham, ON, CanadaLocation: Toronto, ONSalary: $80,000 – $90,000 per yearHours: 40 hours per weekHow to ApplyPlease submit your resume including a cover letter to: [email protected]
