Position Open To: Internal and External Applicants Posting Overview: The Lambton Kent District School Board, serves more than 21,000 students in 50 elementary and 12 secondary schools across Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

Prospective qualified elementary and secondary teachers who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply. • must be able to teach French, Ojibwe, or Lenape language.

Applicants without language qualifications will not be considered; • must be available to start working immediately or once OCT application has been processed; • must be available to work a minimum of 3-5 days/week; • must be available to work 10 months of the school year; • must be willing to travel throughout Chatham-Kent and/or Sarnia-Lambton; • must be available to work on a daily occasional basis; • must be available to work on a last-minute, call-in basis.

Prospective candidates currently enrolled in teachers college are encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will be expected to commence employment immediately or once they become OCT qualified(for current graduates/current students).

Qualifications/Experience:



• Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification in the respective division and subject area; • French qualifications are required; • experience speaking the Ojibwe and/or Lenape language is required; • additional qualifications are an asset; • demonstrated knowledge of current Ontario curriculum and assessment, evaluation, and reporting practices; • excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents and staff ; • demonstrates positive interaction and collaboration as part of the school team; • applies consistent and fair classroom management; • experience working with youth in a variety of settings; • experience working with diverse cultures including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit; • ability to integrate technology into curriculum.
