Ottawa Rapid FC

Ottawa

Ottawa Rapid FC is a founding member of the Northern Super League, Canada’s first women’s pro soccer league alongside clubs in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. At Ottawa Rapid FC, we believe in the codependence of purpose and performance. We constantly strive for excellence through continuous improvement and growth but stay grounded in our core purpose and values.

The Vice President, Partnerships owns Rapid FC’s corporate partnership revenue line, from strategy and sales through activation and renewal. Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the VP will set the Club’s partnership strategy, build and lead the team that sells and services it, and secure the high-value, multi-year agreements that underpin the Club’s long-term financial stability. This is a builder’s role: the successful candidate will bring a sophisticated, data-driven, and entrepreneurial approach to creating partnership assets, closing complex deals, and delivering a best-in-class partner experience that drives retention and growth year over year.

Key responsibilities include:

Partnership Strategy & Revenue Generation

- Develop and execute a multi-year corporate partnership strategy aligned with the Club’s aggressive revenue targets and long-term financial goals.
- Own the partnership revenue line: achieve or exceed annual and multi-year sponsorship revenue targets across new business, renewals, and upsells.
- Secure high-value, multi-year partnerships with national, regional, and local brands that elevate the Rapid FC brand and deliver measurable ROI for partners.
- Build and maintain a robust prospect pipeline that supports both current-year and future-year revenue goals.
- Lead pricing, packaging, and inventory strategy for all partnership assets, including category exclusivity, naming rights, kit and matchday inventory, digital and content assets, community platforms, and hospitality integrations.
- Leverage market insights, NSL league-wide trends, and global best practices in women’s sport to strengthen Rapid FC’s partnership value proposition.

Asset Development & Innovation

- Identify and create new, saleable partnership assets across matchday, digital, content, community, and year-round events.
- Develop compelling, insight-driven proposals that integrate brand storytelling, digital assets, community impact, and experiential platforms.
- Work with Marketing, Communications, and Content to package the Club’s growing media visibility and fan engagement into partner value.

Partner Service & Activation

- Ensure flawless delivery of every partnership commitment and a best-in-class client experience that drives renewals and expanded agreements.
- Build the Club’s partnership activation and servicing function, including fulfilment tracking, activation planning, and post-season recap and ROI reporting. Collaborate with Matchday Operations and Marketing to deliver partner activations seamlessly on matchday and across Club campaigns.

Leadership & Team Building

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing partnership team across sales and partner services, with clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
- Define the team’s structure, hiring plan, and compensation model as the partnership business scales.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. Partner with the Director, Ticket Sales on premium hospitality, group, and bundled offerings for corporate clients.

Relationship Management & Representation

- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, agencies, league partners, and industry stakeholders. Be a visible ambassador for Rapid FC at industry events, league functions, and community engagements.

Reporting & Analytics

- Lead forecasting and budgeting for the partnership revenue line and produce regular reports for the CEO and ownership.
- Monitor KPIs, pipeline activity, conversion rates, and renewal rates to identify opportunities and risks. Evaluate ROI across partnership initiatives and use data-driven insights to refine strategy and investment decisions.

Requirements:

- 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or commercial revenue roles within professional sports, live entertainment, media, or a comparable industry, including experience leading a team.
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value, multi-year partnership deals and growing a sponsorship revenue line.
- Deep understanding of the Canadian sponsorship landscape and established relationships with brands and agencies.
- Experience building integrated, multi-platform partnership solutions spanning matchday, digital, content, community, and hospitality.
- Strong financial acumen and comfort with forecasting, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills; able to build a compelling commercial narrative and articulate a strong value proposition.
- Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and partnership fulfilment or asset-management tools.

Your application will stand out if you:

- Have an excellent command of both English and French languages with superior communication skills, both written and oral.
- Have built a partnership or sponsorship department, or a key part of one, from an early stage.
- Bring experience in women’s sport or a growth-stage property.
- Are a self-starter with strong organizational skills and a relentless drive to prospect and win business.
- Are entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.

- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is different; you are committed and excited by the sports industry where certain times of the year require greater commitment to work. Passion for soccer is a plus.

What Success Looks Like
