We are working with a growing construction company that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance team.This is a hands on accounting role with responsibility for general ledger, reconciliations, month end close, financial reporting and supporting the day to day financial operations of the business.What you'll doPrepare journal entries, accruals and account reconciliationsSupport month end and year end closePrepare financial statements and management reportsComplete bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliationsSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable as neededAssist with cash flow,



budgeting and forecastingPrepare GST and other required filingsSupport external audits and provide schedules and documentationMaintain fixed asset and capital expenditure recordsHelp improve accounting processes and internal controlsWork with operations and management on accounting and financial mattersSupport other accounting projects as neededWhat you bring4+ years of accounting experiencePost secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related fieldCPA designation or working toward a CPA is an assetStrong general ledger and financial reporting experienceGood understanding of Canadian accounting principlesStrong Excel and accounting system skillsConstruction or contracting experience is an assetAble to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesThe opportunityThis would suit someone who likes a hands on accounting role and wants to take ownership of their work. You will work closely with both the finance and operations teams and have the prospect to take on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
