As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will modernize Core Payment Systems within Citi’s Treasury and Trade Solutions business. You will set engineering direction for high-throughput platforms spanning 160 countries and more than 140 currencies. The work covers architecture, production ownership, resilience, and scalable integrations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead software development from architecture through production ownership
Build high-throughput microservices with Java and Spring Boot
Design multi-region failover and zero-downtime release strategies
Define RESTful and event-based API standards




Mentor engineers and strengthen technical quality
Requirements: Six-plus years of software engineering experience
Three-plus years setting technical direction for teams
Expert Java and Spring Boot proficiency
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
Knowledge of resilience patterns, databases, CI/CD, and testing
Lead Citi’s payment modernization through Java architecture, resilient microservices, and engineering direction across global transaction infrastructure.
